As we are now in the Passion week I am recommending a book this month on the Cross. James M. Boice and Philip Ryken give a masterful exposition on the “seven sayings from the Cross” and several events from the life of Christ in their book, The Heart of the Cross. They clearly help to explain the significance and power of the gospel. We have a radical salvation that that provides a freedom over guilt and shame, death and hopelessness, sin and peril thanks to our precious savior, Jesus Christ. The more that we study and think upon the Cross the deeper our worship becomes. So grow with me this month as we read about our Lord’s victory over sin and His provision of redemption for His own people through the Cross.
